.[review] My Beauty Diary Mask - Japanese Cherry Blossom
...Sunday, February 05, 2012

Hi. I'm back!! With new update of course LOL
So, out of anywhere when I read some beauty blog a week ago, I read about a Taiwan product called My Beauty Diary Mask. It was basically a series of mask sheets with LOTS of different essence, functions and effects.
I don't really know about this product since I'm more into Korean/Japanese beauty products so I seriously never heard about a product called My Beauty Diary.
Since the mask was pretty cheap, only Rp. 14,500/sheet - 1.61 USD if you purchased it from My Lovely Sister (you have to buy 5 or more mask sheets to get the special price since they sell it out at Rp. 18,000/sheet - 2.00 USD if you just buy one mask) I was being an impulsive buyer by buying 5 sheets /bricked/
I bought the Japanese Cherry Blossom, Apple, Earl Grey Tea and Macaron, Bird's Nest and Chocolate Truffle. Sounds delish? ;D

Weekend comes and I decided to try the Japanese Cherry Blossom. The smell reminded me to The Body Shop product with the same name :D

♫ Concept/product description

Whitening and refreshing
Japanese Somei-Yoshino Cherry Extract perform triple functions including whitening, soothing and firming. Blended with Extracts of Lemon and Kiwi, it refreshes and softens skin. Soaked in thread of Sakura aroma, skin appears pinky white.

Brightening and soothing
Extracts of Arnica and Aloe soothe, repair and nourish skin. After use, skin glows with freshness.

♫ Direction

1. Cleanse face before masking, excess essence may be massaged onto neck.
2. After 20 minutes, remove mask and gently massage face to assist absorption.
3. No need to rinse, you may apply toner, moisturizer etc. after application
4. Use daily for maximum effect.

♫ My impression

I love this mask!!! When I put it on my face the scent took my attention on the first place. It was lovely!! I've got an addiction towards Japanese Cherry Blossom smell :D
One minute after that, came the cooling sensation which surprised me since My Beauty Diary has the Cooling Mask as well, never thought that there will be some cooling effect on the other line of this mask, love love love!!!
The sheet was transparent (very thin) and I accidentally ripped it a bit lols but no worries it wasn't that fragile. The after effect was great. Glowing and bouncy skin! As for the whitening I didn't expect much since I got quite a fair skin to begin with and i thought we supposed to use this product more often to get the whitening result.

♫ Will I repurchase?

.[review] L'OREAL Revitalift Stretch Mask
...Sunday, January 29, 2012

I'm back with another update. It's been quite long since I did my skincare review, you know some old classic excuses. Work and whatsoever.
So, today I'm going to review another non-Korean/non-Asian mask I've used just now. It's L'OREAL Revitalift Stretch Mask. I bought this mask when I had a trip to KL last month and I only had a chance to wear this mask today. I bought this one in Guardian for like RM 13 if I'm not mistaken. Quite affordable but still more expensive compare to Korean mask sheets :D

The highlight of this product is the stretch mask word at the package. Yes, you could stretch this mask until it fit tightly on your face. It was quite different to those Korean mask sheets I've been using which happened to be a bit loose like you just put them nicely over your face and you're done. So, I tried the stretch effect and it worked (well, it had to lol).

See how it hugged my face tightly? xD

♫ Concept

Infused with revitalift ingredients: proven efficacy on anti-wrinkle + firming
★ Pro-Retinol: a powerful anti-wrinkle active, stimulates the cultaneous regeneration for thicker epidermis layer
★ Fibre-Elastyl: a patented firming active, protects elastin fibres from degradation
★ Hyaluronic Acid, well-known for its hydrating properties

♫ Product Description

Soft and stretchable, the tissue mask is developed to fit perfectly on Asian facial form, it stretches with precise adhesion on every inch of skin for a perfect fit.

♫ Direction

1. Unfold the mask delicately.
2. Place the mask on the face starting from forehead and nose bridge, and stretch to fit the rest of the face for a perfect fit.
3. Gently lift two sides along the jawline for the lifting action.
4. Relax for 10-15 minutes while pressing the mask softly to enhance absorption.
5. Remove mask and dap the excessive serum until complete absorption.

♫ My impression

I was left very impressed with the product. My skin texture becomes yummier after one usage only. Supple, of course. Moisturized, of course. Soft and super hydrated as well.
As promised from the package that after first usage: skin is soft and hydrated. Skin feels supple.

It said that after frequent time you'll get more results such as fine lines and wrinkles are visibly reduced, skin is firmer, radiant and so on.
It even promised more after 4 weeks: 100% women agree their face contours are like lifted (self-assessments, 53 women, 2 applications a week), skin looks more elastic and younger.

♫ Will I repurchase?

As much as my addiction to my Asian masks, I'll definitely purchase this one again once I've got a chance to find it. I don't think this one is available in my hometown D:

.Goodnight and Goodbye
...Tuesday, January 24, 2012

To you my beloved cousin,

How’s there? I hope you are doing alright. It's been hours since you were gone.

I still remember the last time we saw each other. It was like only a month ago. At that time, I even promised you that we’ll see each other again because I couldn’t come to see you and the others on my last night in Bandung. You replied “see you next year”. There’ll be no next year, after all.

I still remember the times when we had so much fun. You were practically the only cousin with the closest age to mine. Only one year gap. I looked through some old pictures and found that even since we were toddlers we were close. You had this long curly hair as a little boy and it was braided :D in that picture we hugged each other tightly.

I still remember the times when you lived in Pekanbaru. Primary years if I’m not mistaken. That was seriously fun. You were one of my favorite cousins and will always be. As we’ve grown up although we only met once a year every time I visit Bandung, we never put any distance in between. We always had fun, as a little kid we watched anime, trying to act like those characters, running madly around the house, playing at the swings at the park nearby the house, swimming at the hot springs, eating snacks and so on.

I still remember few years back on our teenage days, we were young and wild and free. We used one of your friend’s car to go to Dago and had fun. You were instantly became one of my drinking buddies :) Those nights when I sneaked out from the house, met you in Circle K and had more fun with you and your friends. We would chat about stupid things.

With you, there was no sadness. Ever. Only fun and laugh. Carefree. You see, almost every sentences I wrote had the 'fun' tag on them. Therefore, I would live and continue my life without you and there was no reason to be sad. I might be mourning today but tomorrow as the sun rises, I would live my life and laugh freely again. For you.
Please watch me and the others from up there.

See you. Love you.

.For Me. For You. For Everyone.
...Saturday, December 31, 2011

I always wonder why time flies really quick. It was like an irony. How I wanted time to travel faster at some point in this year and now, I'm not ready to face 2012 -another new year- at all, yet. I always thought that I haven't done much, I haven't  do this, I haven't do that, I haven't visit that place yet, I haven't achieve what I supposed to do. But then, that's why we have a new year. A new spirit, to recharge everything. So, in 2012, do all the things you wanted to do, all the things you supposed to do, visit all the places you always dreamed of, love somebody with all of your heart, make peace with God, make more and more friends, and so on.

As for me, I guess this year was... pretty much normal. I had few little twists but they were not that important. Just... some normal stuffs happened in our daily life. I made some resolutions on January 2011, let's do some quick recap!

I got a new job and... I don't know how to say it. I started to love the job and I hope you -my job- will love me back so we can love each other :DD I got stressed over the first few months but it's all better now.

I saved money, I went for a holiday meeting some old friends few weeks back using my own money. I watched Super Show 3 concert with my own money as well. I met the boys finally ;)

I read few books  to get more inspiration for the current story I've been writing for the past year. I'm trying to finish the book by next year.

But too bad, I didn't shed some pounds, in fact I gain weight T.T my friends said it was because I love my job too much LOL. Few days ago me and one of my colleague saw my old pictures back when I was still new in the company and my colleague said that I looked skinnier back then but I looked kind of nerdy and out of place as well. HAHAHAHAH.

I'm still very much attached to the fandom world but it was far lessen compared to last year. Work was consuming me, so I catch up with my fandom life only on weekend and... weekdays sometimes. Tee hee.

I haven't found the other half, the perfect partner in crime I wanted to spend the days with. I'm just... not ready, probably. Lots of friends, mother/father's friends, relatives, grandmas, and blahblahblah had asked me more than once about a "special friend" but I really don't feel like to think about that kind of stuff. I had my own little mind and perspective regarding these kind of stuff which might sounded abnormal to others :D

My relationship with God. I always feel that it got worse but I DO pray every single night. Because I mean... to whom I always wanted to put 100% trust to?

So, enough rambling. This is my resolution for 2012. For Me. For You. For Everyone.

1. better relationship with God and every human being in this world, making more and more friends
2. career advancement
3. move out from Pekanbaru
4. diet diet diet
5. finish the longfic, publish it as a book/novel
6. be more mature... a little bit :D less selfish, maintaining my anger management/mood swings
7. make my parents HAPPY
8. SUPER FUN HOLIDAY! (clue: Singapore/beach/sea)
9. k-pop concert (clue: meet him again/one of my boys)
10. just trying my luck, getting married.

The last resolution, I just wanted to try my luck all along. I always had this little dream to get married at the age of 23.
Keep your fingers crossed and mine too ;D

Happy New Year. Have an awesome 2012. I wished all your resolutions and dream would come true!

.[review] Skin Food White Chocolate Firming Mask Sheet
...Wednesday, November 09, 2011

hello lovelies ;)
i tried this mask a week ago but apparently i couldn't find a perfect time to write a review about this product D: i simply passed out every time i came back from the office. oh well, sometimes i got a little free time but mostly i used it for kpopping or writing. hello, my fanfiction is at the urgent stake! I need to write moreeeeee.

Okay, back to the topic. This mask I've tried was the Skin Food White Chocolate Firming Mask Sheet.
Another day, another mask sheet. tee hee xDD
I got this mask by mistake. At first I asked my mom who went to Malaysia few months ago to buy the Skin Food Chocolate Mask for me (the one in the super cute jar) and it was a wash-off mask. My mom just handed the list to the SPG and the SPG gave her this mask sheet =.="
But never mind, I would love to try any mask especially from Skin Food ^^

♫ Concept

Firming facial mask pack sheet with white chocolate for a slim and firm face.

♫ Product Description

Special food for the skin to eat. Contains lots of nutritive and energetic ingredients such as fresh plants, fruits and etc, to maintain our bodies healthy and lively.

♫ Direction

To use: remove the mask from outer packaging and unfold. Leave on your face for 10 - 15 minutes. Massage in any excess liquid.

♫ My impression

Well, this mask didn't impress me as much as the other Skin Food products/masks. It was supposed to give the firming effect on my face. Well, actually I could just use any mask sheet and voila! I got the firming effect which could be better than this. Could it be because of the fact that my face was already so firm in the first place? LOLS. As for the slimming face effect I simply never trusted this kind of effect from ANY masks. EVER. You could convince me for whitening and blah blah but not for slimming effect because I got a very round face and two chubby/mochi cheeks. It would be impossible to slim down my face =.="

See? My face is so... round!!

♫ Will I repurchase?

I don't think so D: I would love to repurchase tons of other Skin Food masks but not this one.

.[review] Neutrogena Deep Hydrating Mask
...Monday, October 24, 2011

Hello peeps!
I'm back with another mask ;D I obviously love mask sheet in any kind, any brand, any ingredients... well, I could call myself a mask-junkie. LOL.
I got this Neutrogena mask sheet from my colleague at the office, she went to Singapore for a medical check-up and she knew the fact about how much I love skin care (especially, mask) products to death. So she came back to Pekanbaru and gave me this!

♫ Concept

Intensive hydrating, vitamin C formula for healthy, bouncy skin.

♫ Product Description

Neutrogena Deep Hydrating Mask is an intensive facial treatment mask that replenishes and restores moisture for deeply hydrated and bouncy skin. Shaped to fit the face, each mask instantly boosts skin's moisture level 12 times with a penetrating Vitamin C formula, leaving skin soft and dewy with a healthy glow.

★ Provides instant and long-lasting moisturization
★ Deeply hydrates skin cells to leave skin bouncy
★ Improves skin texture to leave it soft and smooth with a healthy glow

Dermatologist tested formula is:

★ Non-comedogenic
★ Alcohol-free
★ Fragrance-free

♫ Ingredients:

Water, Butylene Glycol, Ascorbyl Glocoside, Mulberry (Morus Alba) Root Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Extract, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Cyclomethicone, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Trioctanoin, Propylene Glycol, BHT, Sodium Myristoyl Glutamate, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Sodium Hydroxide.

♫ My impression

I love mask sheet with hydrating title on it xD simply perfect when you got back from the hectic office activity and put this wet mask all over your tired face. voila! everything's back to normal again :)
This mask did hydrating my face despite of the weird chemical smell (which is not so irritating in my opinion), my face became soft and bouncy ^^ (just like how it claimed on the package) but the effect only lasted until the next morning just like how mostly other mask sheets worked. Well, maybe I should use this mask more to get all the advantages perfectly ;D
The shape was perfectly fit to my face and the amount of the watery essence was just normal, not overly wet.

♫ Will I repurchase?

Maybe, if I could find it. Since my hometown was kind of lame in terms of skin care products (especially the imported one) I couldn't find it here obviously. Maybe I'll buy one box (I saw in some skincare blogs that it actually came in this box consisted of 5 mask sheets) when I'm going to Singapore or Malaysia in the future :D

PS: this is my first "western" mask ever, I usually try Korean or Japanese brand but Neutrogena is (definitely!) not disappointing at all ^^
